When I flipped the cover page of this clollector edition(That I bought with 10 dollars (TT^TT) ) I noticed that this book was dedicated to Lucy Barfeild the God Daughter Of C.S Lewis. The moment I saw it I looked it up this is where it got me to Lucy Barfeild. She was the daughter of Owen Barfeild. I mean Lewis really cared and loved this god daughter of his. She was mentioned in his book as Lucy Pevensie. Lucy had a multiple sclerosis and wasn't able to feed herself. Lewis actually made her as a character and people sent hello mails or mails asking if she was Lucy Pevensie from the book. This act saved lucy from her misery she was shocked when she first saw things that was happening Lewis in my opinon did this because he wanted to cheer Lucy up.
Lewis said , "(Thanks to my book I got this peice of info) I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairytales again". This showed how much Lewis actually cares about lucy a book dedicated to her and encouraging her that age doesn't matter for books if you want to read a book go ahead take it from the shelf dust it and read it again. There is a time you will be too old to be reading fairytales but you would be older to read fairy tale again says even if you are old you can always grow old enough and start reading again.
This gives me a slight thought can everything the personality of Lucy from the real life be the same in the book. If the character Lucy was inspired by Lucy then can this mean that every aspect of Lucy is like her? The curiosity and adventurous behavior like the real Lucy or can it just be how Lucy wants to be? One thing I know this tale can be just encouraging lucy. One thing I know this is just like all fairy tales with a perfect ending. When it says when 2 son of adam and 2 daughter of eve sits on the throne it would bring eternal peace just to say that is impossible. If there is peace then there is darkness if there is life then there is death this is how the world balances itself. If you replace peace with light then eternal light? If there is light then there will be darkness if there is morning then there is night if one thing goes missing the balance of the world would come to an end. Everything has a opposite which balances that one positive side of its out. Everything has its own weakness, nothing is perfect nor is life so if you put that in conclusion that prohecy or fairytale can just be false. But this is fairy tale we talk about a different world a different balance this is not the real world this is a magical world everything can happen.
As you can see C.S Lewis has a long story the connection with love from C.S Lewis is unexplainable it is very complex. Things alway has a balance just as in the book if there is good then there is bad in this case the good is Aslan and the bad is the Witch. Things always have a balance if it is ruined a story won't be a story living won't be living balance can be said as a theme but this isn't about it this is about the life of C.S Lewis and the start of NARNIA.
I think you did really well with this post because you seemed flexible and you seemed to write about every interesting fact about this author.
